I think I just came up with my actual question. It is:
Is underachievement causing a learning gap in English Language Learners and other ethnic subgroups, and gifted and talented students?
This is what I am going to send to my advisor. Finally! I didn't know how to phrase it, this seems right.

Congratulations! That's a huge step! It sounds, from your earlier posts, like you've had a really busy beginning of the year. I feel that! I hope its starting to wind down a bit for you as it is for me. I'm finally finding a few minutes to breathe and work on my lit. review. My adviser wants a final draft of my Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 by September 30th-I've been stressed too.
